Upon discovering that Korean horror titles were trending well in Indonesia, we were able to carve out a small amount of budget to do something fun that would celebrate both Indonesian fans and a new Korean title called Hellbound. We only had 10 days until the title launch, so we pulled together a simple, but effective concept where the “monsters” from Hellbound were running riot on the streets of Jakarta. Filming super early, before any locals hit the pavements, we engaged a local director to sprint full pelt around recognisable Indonesian landmarks with a go pro in his hand - as if it was a phone camera. He did a remarkable job of sprinting here and there, hiding from cars - and I only wish I was there to watch this chap playing high energy hide and seek on his own at 6am in central Jakarta. From there, we recorded a terrified VO from a voice actor, super imposed some chaos into the scenes and simply (I say simply, I am not a 3D designer) lifted a few clean masters from the movie into the shots. As far as 10-day projects go, this was pretty seamless and local fans were delighted to see their city ripped apart by Korean underworld beasts.
